Hamilton Lake walk

Sindy took us to the Hamilton lake for a walk around it with Molly (8 month old Sydney Silky). It rained but was still great fun. Sindy and I are not twins, not that you would believe it in this shot.

The walk was a welcome break from all the mall shopping and eating that we had been doing.

Michelle got excited because the NZ sparrows were a bit different so they warranted a photo!

We found plenty of Pukekos and a sunken waka. It rained on the way and Molly turned into a sodden little pup and had to be carried by Sindy part of the way.

Seeing Yann

unexpected indians

Whale Bay Raglan

Any remnants of jet lag were soon blown away!

Sindy, Patsy, Michelle and Georgina went to Raglan for fish and chips. The scallops were a real hit. At a visit to a kiwi dairy George found a popular treat from the past in the form a 'cream bun'. Weird how simple things can be exciting on a trip home.

Waiheke Island

The beautiful koru

This is our visit to Jo and Meriel's place - they built this themselves 5 years ago. They grow tamarillos! Lots of fruit and veges, all organic, and they have a composting toilet. It is an amazing place. We appreciated the incredibly hot and sunny day they put on for us when we were there. We had to get on the boat back to Auckland in a storm which was exciting but actually the ride back was quite calm.

Welcome to our record of our trip to the land of the long white cloud. It takes ages to download the pics so we have put them on small. If you click them you get a bigger version.
